From Bafang and Samsung to Tektro, Shimano, and Kenda, we choose recognized components for dependable performance, easier maintenance, and long-term peace of mind — even through Canadian winters.
The e-bike, in detail
A closer look at the Regal Blaze, the components we chose, and the thinking behind every detail.

How it behaves
Five levels, changed from the bar without stopping
Level 2Tour
The everyday setting. Keeps pace with traffic without effort.
The share shown is the proportion of the effort the motor contributes at a steady cruise. Higher levels are faster and use proportionally more battery.
Component reference
500 W · 80 Nm
A rear hub motor sized to the Canadian legal maximum and tuned for city starts. Torque arrives from a standstill without the lurch — the bike pulls away with you, not ahead of you.
691 Wh · removable
Samsung cells in a pack integrated into the downtube — no bolted-on box. Lift it out with the key to charge it indoors, or leave it in and charge the bike where it stands.
180 mm · dual piston
Hydraulic discs front and rear, sized at 180 mm so they stay predictable fully loaded and in Canadian weather. One finger is enough; the lever feel does not change as the pads wear in.
Speed · assist · battery
Speed, assist level, battery state and trip distance, readable in direct sun and dimmed at night. A USB port on the side keeps your phone alive on the long way home.
60 mm travel · lockout
Sixty millimetres of travel takes the edge off streetcar tracks and winter potholes. Lock it out on smooth tarmac and the bike goes rigid and efficient again.
Shimano · 7-speed
A simple, serviceable 7-speed. Every part of it is stocked in any bike shop in the country, which is exactly the point.
Front & rear, always-on
Front and rear lights run from the main battery and are wired into the frame — nothing to remember, nothing to charge, nothing to steal.
27.5 in · reflective
A puncture-resistant belt under a city tread, with a reflective sidewall stripe that catches headlights from the side — the angle drivers see you from least.
